Williams County man gets nearly 4 years in Amish buggy crash

A Williams County man who fled the scene of an Amish buggy crash that injured a pregnant woman and her children has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison. Michael Quillen, 32, of Bryan, must also pay more than $750,000 in restitution to the victims.

Quillen pleaded guilty to three counts of failure to stop after an accident and one count of tampering with evidence as part of a plea bargain. Charges of possession of cocaine and driving under a court suspension were dropped.

State troopers said the Nov. 12, 2025 crash left the Amish family with serious injuries and mounting medical bills. Family members told 13 Action News the pregnant mother was forced to deliver her baby two months early.

The crash happened in Center Township on County Road G, near County Road 10.

Quillen is also accused of driving under the influence in Indiana three months after the buggy crash. That court case is still playing out.

A police report obtained by 13 Action News said Quillen was not supposed to be behind the wheel in either case because his license was suspended.
