Man arrested after breaking Nashville McDonald’s employee’s arm, police say
A man was arrested after police said he broke a McDonald’s employee’s arm during a dispute at a Nashville restaurant. The employee required surgery and was taken to a hospital for severe pain, according to an arrest affidavit.
Metro Nashville Police first encountered Javaunn Brown at a bus stop near the Eighth Avenue South McDonald’s, where he told officers that workers had harassed him “for no reason at all.”
Restaurant employees told police that Brown had been flirting with a cashier and making her uncomfortable.
The woman’s coworker, Ethan Caldwell, noticed the cashier’s discomfort, asked her to go to the back of the restaurant and told Brown the dining room was closing and he needed to leave.
Caldwell followed Brown to the door so he could lock it once Brown left. The affidavit says “Brown pulled the door hard and fast, causing Mr. Caldwell to break his right arm, requiring surgery.”
Brown is being charged with aggravated assault.
