Lucas County Children Services to host child safety talk in Sylvania
Lucas County Children Services will host an open public meeting about child safety in Sylvania. The event connects local families with vital resources on child abuse and neglect prevention. The public gathering takes place on October 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is scheduled at 3900 King Road in Sylvania.
The agency designed the session to show the community’s role in protecting children. “Everyone should have a basic understanding of what they need to do if they suspect that a child is experiencing maltreatment,” said Shelby Cully, director of disproportionality reduction, training, and quality assurance for the agency.
The session is the final community conversation of the year. Presentations will cover foster care along with alcohol and drug abuse outreach. Speakers will also cover empowering parents and other topics.
Light refreshments are provided for attendees. Organizers welcome all local caregivers.
