Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong applied for top Columbus job
Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong sought the top fire leadership position in Columbus during the summer. Records show her submission was sent to the municipal search panel.
She sent the application to the City of Columbus’ Fire Chief Selection Committee on July 20. The document detailed her career experience. She wrote that she wanted “to transition seamlessly into this role and begin advancing the Division’s priorities from day one.”
Her career with Toledo Fire & Rescue began in 2000. She became a Battalion Chief in 2019. Armstrong was then named Fire Chief in 2022.
Municipal selection committees review candidate materials for executive department posts. These panels evaluate qualifications before leaders make appointments.
Officials from Columbus stated that the application process for the open post has been re-opened.
