Toledo military police company returned home from Iraq in 2003
Members of the Ohio Army National Guard’s 323rd Military Police Company arrived back in Toledo in December 2003. Their homecoming ended nearly a full year away from their families. The soldiers completed an overseas tour before the winter holidays.
The unit prepared for deployment at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Soldiers then deployed directly to Iraq. They spent more than eight months training Iraqi police officers during the mission.
News cameras recorded reunions at Fort Bragg. Crews also filmed arriving flights at Toledo Express Airport. Families gathered at the gates to greet them.
Military police units provide security and law enforcement support during overseas deployments. Returning units typically process through regional transit stations before local dismissals occur. Families often assemble at municipal airports for scheduled arrivals.
The archival broadcast airs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. Viewers can watch the program on 13+ or local stream platforms.
