Luis Moran Arrested in Death of Missing Stockton Man; Second Man Charged as Accessory
A missing-person case in Stockton has become a homicide investigation, with police announcing the arrest of a 28-year-old man in the death of a 74-year-old resident.
The older man was reported missing in late August; he was last seen on August 24. Police found his car near the 1500 block of S. San Joaquin Street, and on Friday detectives served a search warrant at a nearby home. The victim’s body was discovered in an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County, found, police said, through additional investigative efforts.
Luis Moran, 28, was arrested on suspicion of homicide. A second man, Francisco Renteria-Sanchez, 28, was arrested for accessory — helping a suspect in a criminal case.
The Stockton police investigation remains ongoing.
