Stockton Search Turns Up Fentanyl Pills, Cash and Firearms; Two Arrested
What began as an inquiry into a stolen Ford F-350 truck ended with San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies searching a home in Stockton’s Weston Ranch neighborhood and seizing 16,000 fentanyl pills and other illegal drugs, $288,142 in cash, 14 firearms and about 100 pounds of fireworks, officials said.
Peter Zile, 60, and Lisa Hall, 47, were arrested on Thursday and face multiple felony charges — vehicle theft, possession of controlled substances to sell, and weapons charges including possession or transportation of a machine gun. Their combined bail was set at $1.25 million, according to the prosecutor’s office.
District Attorney Ron Freitas called the amount of drugs, cash and firearms uncovered “alarming” and a serious threat to the community. Zile and Hall appeared in court in Stockton on Monday and were scheduled to return Wednesday morning.
Toledo readers will recognise the pattern from Lucas County cases: a stolen-vehicle inquiry opens the door, and what deputies find inside redraws the case entirely — from one truck to a distribution-scale seizure.
