Family of Christopher Bourn II honors him with Toledo Halloween event
Relatives of Christopher Bourn II are planning a Toledo memorial trunk-or-treat event following his fatal shooting last year. The gathering continues a family holiday tradition that he led every year with his children.
Bourn was shot and killed outside the Agenda Bar on Matzinger Road in July of last year. Toledo police still have no suspects in the homicide case.
His mother, Latoneya McClain, said people possess critical details about the incident.
People, in my opinion, are scared to come forward and tell what they saw and what they heard. If you don’t want to talk to the police, you can tell me the information and I’ll tell the police.
Bourn walked his sons trick-or-treating every Halloween from his mother’s driveway, rain or shine. His four sons are now keeping the holiday outing alive.
The Bourn Legacy Boo Bash trunk-or-treat event is scheduled for Oct. 25 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The gathering will take place at Wilson Park.
His daughter, named Chosyn, was born seven months ago. Her father never got to meet her.
Chosyn will attend alongside her brothers. McClain stated the infant shares facial traits with Bourn.
Eyes, face structure everything. All the kids look just like him. They got different bits of him growing up in them, but she is definitely him.
Community trunk-or-treat gatherings bring families together in public Toledo park spaces to distribute candy. Neighbors often organize memorial events to support surviving children after unresolved violent crimes.
McClain asks anyone with details about her son’s murder to speak up. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
